Honorary Stormtroopers!!
We would like to welcome three more very brave and worthy young lads who have received Honorary Stormtrooper status with the UKG.
On Saturday 2nd April 2022, the UKG attended the 5th annual Hollywood Glitter Ball in Hull where funds were being raised for two causes.
The first cause was for 8-year-old Alex and 12-year-old Joel Wilkinson who so sadly both have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy for which there is no cure and who need equipment to assist them.
The second cause was Duchenne UK, a charity funding research into the condition.
Also in attendance was the organiser's son, Ashley Wegg (14), a massive Star Wars fan who also suffers from DMD which currently has an average life expectancy of just 27 years.
Thank you for your service troopers!
Cinema in Symphony, Basingstoke
Members of the 501st UK Garrison attended Cinema in Symphony at the Basingstoke Anvil theatre.
This was an opportunity for members of the public to experience their favourite film music played by a full-scale orchestra and get up and close and personal to film props and rub shoulders with Darth Vader and his storm troopers.
The event was helping to raise money for the Make-A-Wish charity.
Wales Comicon
Troopers from the 501st UK Garrison were asked to patrol @walescomicon in order to protect members of the public from suspicious Rebels.
They also spent some time looking for Death Star plans but to no avail.
World Autism Awareness Day 2022
This week is World Autism Acceptance Week and today is World Autism Awareness Day 2022, and the UK Garrison would like to take a moment for us all to contemplate both people with and also families living with Autism.
There are roughly 100,000 children in the UK on the autistic spectrum, and each child is different from the next child. Children with autism might find it tricky to feel part of everyday life, and this is where the UK Garrison play an exceptional part in their lives.
Not only have we helped raised money for Autistic Charities, but we have made children Honorary Stormtroopers of the Garrison, and have recorded Video Messages for children where we couldn’t meet in person.
The UK Garrison supports World Autism Awareness.

Troy Kotsur Oscar win
We would like to congratulate Troy Kotsur on his historic Oscar win.
This past Sunday night, Troy became the first male deaf actor to win this honor for his work on the film CODA.
Troy is an Honorary Member of The 501st Legion.
He not only played a Tusken in The Mandalorian, he created the sign language used on the show as well.
Representation and inclusion matters and we would like to thank you, Troy, for being such a wonderful role model.
Congratulations again!
